40th Annual Mifflin-Juniata Arts Festival

Hours
Set-up: Friday, May 17 after 5:30pm / Saturday, May 18 7:00am to 10am
Festival Hours: Saturday, May 17 10:00am to 5:00pm / Sunday, May 18 11:10am to 5:00pm
Tear Down: Sunday, May 18-5:00pm Note: Exhibitors must not tear down before 5:00pm Sunday. Failure to comply jeopardizes participation in future shows.
The festival is located in a beautiful park setting nestled beside the historic Kishacoquillas Creek. Just two blocks from Downtown Lewistown, Rec. Park provides a tranquil setting for both the artist and the public, playground equipment for the children, and restroom facilities. All facilities are handicapped accessible. Parking and admission is free.
Eligibility
-All work must be original. We will not accept greenware or items made from kits. No buy and sell.
-It is essential that the participating artist be the one who created the work for sale.
-We emphasize demonstrations as an important part of the show. In this way, the public has a chance to see art in process and more fully appreciate it.
Entry Requirements:
-Fill out attached application and sign release.
-Enclose a check for $75.00 (space rental for both days). Make check payable to Mifflin-Juniata Arts Festival Council.
-All applications are juried. Enclose five (5) quality slides or photos of the work you intend to exhibit. One (1) slide or photo showing your overall booth display is also required. Slides or photos will be returned. The M-J Arts Festival Council reserves the right to request removal of any work not accurately represented for jury.
-All artists/craftspeople will receive notification of acceptance or rejection. Entrance fee will be refunded in the event of rejection.
-Upon acceptance, artist will receive an information packet that includes directions and lodging information.

3. A self-addressed stamped envelope-manila 9"x12" envelope with 63cents postage. This will be used to return slides of artists not accepted or to provide accepted artists with additional festival information.

EXHIBIT/DISPLAY RULES:
-A space 10' x 15' will be provided. Exhibitors must provide all display equipment.
-BE PREPARED FOR RAIN OR SHINE!
-Electricity NOT available.
-Prices must be clearly marked on all items.
-Exhibitor is solely responsible to collect and report any applicable state and local tax.
-An application is a commitment to participate. No refunds will be given once application has been accepted.
AWARDS:
Awards totaling $400.00 will be available to all Arts and Crafts Exhibition participants and will be presented for Best of Show ($100) and Best of Selected Categories ($50). Judging will take place on Saturday morning and all cash awards will be presented before the conclusion of the festival on Sunday. Ribbons will be awarded on Saturday.
INSURANCE - SECURITY - LIABILITIES:
The M-J Arts Festival Council will provide security throughout the festival. However, the furnishing of such service is in no case to be interpreted by exhibitors as guaranteeing them against loss or theft of any kind. Exhibitors wishing to insure their materials, wares and goods must do so at their own expense. The exhibitor agrees that the Mifflin-Juniata Arts Festival Council and Lewistown Borough/Rec Park are not responsible for any loss, damage, destruction or injury to the exhibitor. All claims for any loss, damage, destruction or injury are expressly waived by the exhibitor. The Mifflin-Juniata Arts Festival Council will not be held liable for failure to hold exhibition as scheduled. Payments for booth space will be returned in the event of cancellation. If the festival is called off due to fire, act of God, strike or any other act which makes it impossible or impractical to hold the exhibition, the Mifflin-Juniata Arts Festival Council will not be held liable.
